About the Builder:
Ira Blaine started in the construction
business in 1975 with A.B.A.F. Mechanical Company, Inc. His initial
duties were administration, coordinating sales, service and the daily
operations of running the business. When the company moved into the
general contracting phase, Ira became the general contractor to build a
200,000 S.F. private school and numerous strip shopping centers in
Central New Jersey Monmouth and Ocean
County.
In
1979, Ira branched out to form West Pointe at Barnegat, Inc. A
development company that purchased 100 acres of land in Barnegat, New
Jersey, sub-divided the property into 125 buildable lots and built
Section 1. Due to adverse economic conditions, the company ceased
operation in 1984.
In
1984, P.F.C. Inc. was formed. The company was created with (3)
stockholders. Ira Blaine - Vice President was enabled to learn a new
phase of construction. Clearing large parcels of property, storm pipe
installation, water line installation, curb & sidewalk installation,
including landscaping, cost estimating and implementation of the work to
be performed. Performed site work for private developers, Government
Municipalities and Federal Government projects.
1986-1990 - Ira was a stockholder and 50% shareholder in I.W.M.
Inc. General Contractor - Residential & Commercial Division.
Construction of custom built homes 6000+ square feet and strip shopping
centers, 150,000 SF, including Rehabilitation of industrial properties
in Keasby, N.J.
1990 - Ira decided that the time to create his own identity had
come. Diversified Builders was formed as a General Contracting Company
to build custom built homes and commercial properties. In 1990
Diversified Builders formed a Florida General Contracting Company -
South Atlantic Development Company, Inc. - in which Ira supervised the
trades in the rebuilding of residential and commercial properties caused
by the devastation of Hurricane Andrew. Completed work for Fortune 500
Companies Sony Corp, Mastercraft, Firestone Corp. and Midas Muffler.
In
1998, Diversified Builders realized that the building business is
changing in New Jersey. Ira took on his one and only partner for 20
years, his wife Marilynn. Today, Marilynn is an intricate part of the
company; organization, scheduling, follow up for permits and design
including paying the bills in a timely fashion.
Diversified Today:
Due to a scarcity of land to build on and the cost outlay to develop
residential properties in New Jersey, Diversified Builders formed a
remodeling division.
The average home in New
Jersey is 40 years old. Diversified Builders takes great pride to guide
the homeowner with design concepts, cost estimating, construction of the
actual project and the pride of the finished product. Taking a 130 year
old home or a 40 year old home and updating it into the year 2005 has
given Diversified Builders customers pride and increased value in their
real estate. Diversified Builders employees’ personal satisfaction on
completion of a project well done makes it easy to move on to the next
challenge.
Today, after many trials
and errors, Diversified Builders has completed numerous projects and has made the homeowners' dreams come true.
